Welcome to Journey to Self-Healing, a blog where I provide methods you can practice to improve your own mental health and where I take you along with me as I embark on my own–you guessed it–journey to self-healing.
My name is Tiersha Lin, and I recently graduated from high school and started my first year of college. 2020 was indeed a crazy (might I say….unprecedented) year for everyone. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, our “normal” way of life was completely uprooted. We were forced indoors, moved to an online learning/working environment, and minimized our in-person interactions. Not only did the pandemic change our lives, but social protests also erupted around the globe as a response to police brutality and other forms of government injustice.
As a graduating high school senior and a first-year college student, my mental health plummeted. I found myself stuck in a cycle of toxic mindsets and thought patterns, and to be honest, I am still struggling with them now. However, in an effort to relieve myself of them, I decided to try different methods of self-healing such as journaling, meditation, exercise, and healthy eating. Although I still have a lot of work to do, these practices have been able to elevate my mood as well as allow me to better comprehend and analyze my thoughts. I hope that by coming along this journey with me, you will also be able to start the complicated process of your own self-healing and find your peace.
